The Caregiver Education Series
Free, open to the public, and ongoing. Each session stands on its own and covers a different part of the road. Come to one, or come to all of them.
No cost. No registration required, though it helps me plan. Just show up, or reserve a seat below.
The Caregiver Education Series meets at the Lafayette Public Library, South Regional, and it is built for families who are somewhere in the middle of dementia or memory loss and would rather learn from someone who has been close to this disease than piece it together alone. Each session is a single, self-contained hour. You do not need to have attended a previous one to understand this one.

If a diagnosis just landed in your family, this hour is for you. What the word actually means, the grief nobody warns you about, and one concrete step you can take this week.
- A clear picture of what a dementia diagnosis does and does not mean
- Permission to grieve a loss that has no funeral, and language for it
- One concrete next step, so you leave with footing instead of a to-do list

Why This Exists
Most families never get an hour like this.
Somewhere between a diagnosis and a crisis, most families are left to figure things out with whatever they can find on their own. This series exists to close some of that gap, one hour at a time, in a room where nobody has to explain why they are there.
Each session is built to stand alone. Come to the one that speaks to where your family is right now. There is no course to fall behind on, and no wrong place to start.
